- The mana cost of this card is reduced by 1 whenever the controlling player summons a Beast (by any means). In particular:
- Beasts summoned for you through summon effects (such as a friendly Savannah Highmane's Deathrattle or an enemy Hungry Dragon's Battlecry) will trigger Knight of the Wild's effect.[1][2]
- Minions which transform into a Beast during the summoning process will trigger Knight of the Wild's effect: this includes Druid of the Claw, Druid of the Fang, Druid of the Flame, Druid of the Saber[3] and possibly Faceless Manipulator.
- Minions transformed into a Beast by a spell (such as Polymorph or Hex) will not trigger Knight of the Wild's effect, regardless of which player cast it, since the minion was already in play and thus is not considered to be summoned.[4][5] However, minions transformed into a Beast by Recombobulator's Battlecry will trigger Knight of the Wild's effect.[6]
- This card has a triggered effect that creates a cost-modification enchantment attached to the card itself whenever the controlling player summons a Beast.
- The mana cost of this card cannot be reduced below 0. However, further cost-reductions can help in countering cost-increasing effects like Freezing Trap.

Lore
Centaurs are a half-humanoid, half-horse, war-like tribal race. They abound in central and southern Kalimdor, primarily in Desolace and the Barrens, where they engage in constant war against other centaur and tauren tribes. They are savagery and brutality incarnate.
Each tribe of centaurs is lead by a khan, who is generally a leader of above-average strength and intelligence. Some of the clans, if not all, practice cannibalism and will eat the flesh of other sapient races as well, such as the tauren.
Centaurs follow a shamanistic faith, but their brand of shamanism is far different from the more gentle practices of the Horde.
